Our Story

As a passionate Lactation Consultant and Neonatal Nurse, I have found myself exploring all the possibilities of preserving breastmilk after having my first child. My original intentions were just to preserve my own milk, but after seeing so many mothers wanting the same thing for a more affordable price I started offering my services to other moms. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with other mothers and help them preserve every drop of breastmilk they want for a variety of different reasons!

FAQs

What is your sterilization process?

Following the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer sterilization recommendations the machine and all items coming in contact with breastmilk are properly cleaned between cycles.

How does pricing work?

You are paying for up to 200oz of frozen breast milk. Example: if you choose 4oz bags I will divide your 200oz into 4oz increments once it is freeze dried. Large multiuse bags are similar to formula cans, where you are removing what you want each feeding.

Does freeze drying my milk pasteurize my breast milk?

Freeze-drying of human milk does not kill the bacteria in the milk. Dried products have a very low moisture content, which has antibacterial properties, but it is not sterile. Your milk is not pasteurized so any bacteria from pump parts or improper storage will result in bacteria remaining in the freeze-dried milk.

How does freeze drying breast milk work?

Freeze drying breast milk involves freezing the milk and then removing the water content through a process called sublimation, resulting in preserved nutrients and longer shelf life.

Does my milk ever get thawed during the freeze drying process?

No. Your milk stays frozen throughout the whole process, ensuring its safety and integrity.

What is high lipase in breast milk and how does it affect storage?

High lipase in breast milk is an enzyme that can cause the milk to develop a soapy or metallic taste over time. It does not affect the milk’s nutritional value but may impact its taste. Freeze drying helps stop lipase from rising as fast in stored breastmilk.
